For Students & Schools

How We Partner with Students & Schools

At Bay State Physical Therapy, we take our leadership responsibility to train the next generation of physical therapists seriously. We work closely with school faculty and administrators to help design and place their students into robust clinical rotation opportunities. We also participate in university events, guest lectures, and professional development for students. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of Physical Therapists by giving them the opportunity to learn from our world class clinical instructors!

What Universities Do We Work With?

We work with a wide range of PT schools, both within and outside of New England. Clinical students who join the Bay State Physical Therapy team will be immersed in one of our dynamic clinics, with opportunities to enhance their skills in various specializations, such as vestibular rehab, aquatic rehab, dance medicine, pediatrics, and more.

Interested in partnering with us for hosting clinical students? Or, interested in partnering with us for a student event? Contact Erica Feitler, DPT, Director of University Relations.

What We Offer Our Students

Support As You Prep for Your Exams

Supporting new physical therapy graduates is incredibly important to us. We care about their long-term growth and development. When our Physical Therapists succeed, our clinics succeed, and most importantly, our patients receive the best care possible.

That’s why we’ve partnered with NPTE Final Frontier, a premier PT board prep company designed to help students pass the NPTE. Through this program, new physical therapy graduates have access to an 11-week intensive course, along with materials to help them pass their boards.

I really enjoyed my first full time clinical rotation with Bay State Physical Therapy. It was a challenging but extremely rewarding experience. I appreciated how my Clinical Instructor (Hannah at the Raynham clinic) gave me the support to feel confident in my abilities to practice PT without having someone always looking over my shoulder. I had the opportunity to build my own caseload, learn how to work with PTAs and rehab aides, and even participate in a student leadership day. I am incredibly grateful that I was placed at Bay State Physical Therapy for my first clinical, because they helped me establish a strong base of knowledge I can take with me into my future clinical experiences.

I cannot express how much I enjoyed my time at Bay State Physical Therapy as a clinical student. I was impressed with how organized they were and the commitment they had in educating their students and new graduates. The staff were very inviting, making it a comfortable place to work at as a student. My Clinical Instructor Katherine was the best. She gave me an appropriate amount of independence without overwhelming me. I left my clinical placement feeling encouraged and confident in my abilities as a physical therapist. I would highly recommend doing one of your placements at Bay State Physical Therapy as a student!

Scott H., LIU – Brooklyn Student

Bay State Physical Therapy was my first full time rotation, and one that will be memorable as I embark on my own PT professional career. I have had such a privilege learning from my clinical instructor, Liz, who has been super friendly, knowledgeable, and patient from day 1. The atmosphere at the clinic is so welcoming, and I shortly became very comfortable being a student there. I can tell BSPT cares about their students and wants to make sure they leave their rotation learning and practicing as much as they can. Thank you so much, BSPT!

I have truly enjoyed my clinical rotation here at Bay State PT. I have learned under a great team of therapists and truly feel like Bay State truly cares about its students and their time in the clinic. Everyone at Bay State has put great emphasis on continuing education and putting clients first. Bay State was an excellent first exposure to clinical treatments, and I am so thrilled to have participated as a student.

Amelia G., Quinnipiac Student

My time with Bay State started with my first clinical experience where I was positioned at the Chelmsford clinic, under Mike who was my CI. Compared to some of my classmates and what I imagined my initial clinical experience would be like, I was given a great amount of independence, though with appropriate guidance, and felt extremely equipped with proper patient care and time management for my remaining clinical experiences. Once I graduated, I was fortunate to be able to transition right back to Chelmsford as a new grad. Bay State has made great strides with outreach for new clinicians including early training with the overall Bay State approach to patient care including quality and quantity of time spent with patients, as well as providing EMR training. I was able to build my skills through Continuing Ed provided through Bay State, including becoming certified in dry needling. With help from my Managing Partner and mentor I was able to transition first from Lead PT to Clinic Manager of Chelmsford and was provided Leadership Training along with other leads from clinics around Bay State. With Bay State, I have been able to grow as a clinician from student to Clinic Manager, while continuing to improve my overall care to my patients.

Caroline S., PT, DPT, Clinic Manager of BSPT Chelmsford.

My time at Bay State as a student was invaluable preparation for my professional career. From the beginning, my CI and everyone on staff made me feel welcome and created an environment where I felt comfortable asking questions, practicing skills, and working with patients. After I graduated, my time at Bay State set a high bar for what I was looking for in an employer. I was fortunate to be able to return to a place with such knowledgeable clinicians, and a work culture that made transitioning from student to therapist so seamless.

Oluwadara F., PT, DPT of BSPT Danvers

I am halfway through my first clinical rotation and could not be happier with my experience at Bay State’s Weymouth location. The staff is exceptionally talented and personable, and the care that they have and the lengths they will go to ensure patient satisfaction is inspirational. I never would have imagined how much I would learn in such a short time thanks to my CI, Melanie. I would gladly recommend Bay State PT to any new DPT student as they look for clinical sites!
